I have done many things in my past… more than the average person. All along, I was longing to be a painter. Years and years rolled by while I juggled and deconstructed what I had been told a painter was and what they did. Then finally, with the encouragement of my husband, I just sat down and started to paint.
I have NEVER been happier.
So, being completely untrained, my work could easily be deamed “Folk Art“. I prefer it to be addressed simply as “Visual Storytelling”.

Mottos Dictated through Adaptations:
Don’t let things surprise you - Let them validate you.
Cherish the art of long distance relationships.
Learn from those who have passed on before you.
The word Artist is not exclusive - Everyone is an Artist at something.
To a friends house, the way is never long.
1987 - The Mattress Factory Art Exhibition (in Cabbagetown , in the Mill). Instillation: The Power of Mask Media. A Collaboration.
1993- - Invitation to work in collaboration with other artists to create an Exquisite Corpse piece for an Art of The Century Gallery Event at Rebecca Shipley's place in Atlanta.
2011- Traveled solo to Checam, Guatemala (S.W. Of Quetzaltenango) to learn about the iconography within the back-strap-loom weaving of the Ke'che Maya. At night, I conducted painting time with the supplies I had brought with me anticipating this happening. The first night, a few kids showed up. By the end of the week there were whole families (who had never painted before) and leaders of the community painting together. Each painting was a story. It was a dream come true.
